We are so excited to announce our 2019 Pickle-of-the-Month Club! A Pickle Club membership is the gift that keeps on giving. Supporting local food has never been so fun!
so how does it work?
Once every four weeks, you will get a DIFFERENT, SURPRISE, locally made, seasonal, small-batch pickle/ferment. That’s 13 different pickles over the course of the year! We offer two different membership sizes:
The REAL DILL is our full-size membership. Real Dill members will receive a HALF-GALLON-EQUIVALENT of each month’s pickle/ferment. Depending on the type of pickle, it may come in one large half-gallon jar, two quart jars, or four pint jars - but the total quantity will always equal one half-gallon. The Real Dill is a great membership for households with multiple pickle-lovers, or for going halvsies with a friend. Real Dill members will receive the broadest selection of pickles (i.e., some months will feature pickles spiced four different ways in four different pint jars!) and this membership is also THE BEST VALUE at $120 for non-CSA members. That works out to just $4.62/quart! 2019 CSA members get an even better deal, at $100 or $3.85/quart!
The HALF SOUR is our smaller membership. Half Sour members will receive a ONE-QUART-EQUIVALENT of each month’s pickle/ferment. Depending on the type of pickle, it may come in one quart jar or two pint jars - but the total quantity will always equal one quart. The Half Sour is a great membership for a pickle-lover who doesn’t need to share. The Half Sour membership costs $75 for non-CSA members, or $5.77/quart. 2019 CSA members pay just $65, or $5.00/quart.
Full payment is required to secure your 2019 Pickle Club membership.
JOINING THE PICKLE-OF-THE-MONTH CLUB IS A COMMITMENT TO ADVENTUROUS EATING, A COMMITMENT TO SUPPORTING LOCALLY-PRODUCED FOOD, AND PERHAPS MOST IMPORTANTLY, A COMMITMENT TO PICKLES. And when we say pickles, we mean FERMENTS. You do not get to pick what kind of pickles you receive, and we reserve the right to make any kind of seasonal ferment we see fit. You will most likely only receive variations of a traditional cucumber pickle 2 or 3 times over the entire year. Examples of other pickles/ferments we will likely offer include dilly beans, Italian giardiniera, and even sauerkraut. Some offerings might be spicy! Some might be sweet. You never know what you’re going to get.
PLEASE NOTE: The exact start date is yet to be determined, but we are aiming for sometime in the last full week of January. Club members will be notified of both the exact start date and all subsequent pickle days for the year in early January. As for pick-up locations: centrally-located pick-up spots will be determined based on where our club members live. Just like with our traditional vegetable CSA, members will be picking up their own pickles at their assigned pick-up locations. Members will be given their choice of locations to pick up from in early January.
